Pumping Tests

Pumping Tests are undertaken to obtain data, with which to:

  • Determine the hydraulic properties of an aquifer or aquifers.

  • Determine spatial effects of pumping.

  • Assess the hydraulic behavior of a well upon pumping.

  • Information on water quality and its variability with time.

Regarding design of Dewatering Systems, a pumping test gives the best information on the drawdown level, flow rates and unforeseen factors generated upon pumping. It is unfortunate that pumping tests are not automatically carried out during site investigation where, the initial cost of a short test, far out weighs the extra costs created by unforeseen hydrogeological conditions once on site.

Project Dewatering Ltd can offer a cost effective and complete pumping test service. This involves initial desk study, drilling and undertaking of the test to BS 6316 (1992) together with a full factual and interpretive report.

Groundwater Remediation

Increasing the cleansing or removal of polluted Groundwater is required to enable Civils and Housing projects to be carried out. Project Dewatering can offer cost effective solutions to these problems.

The type of groundwater remediation method is dependent on the type of pollution and ground conditions. Typically it involves either a pump and treat or remove operation, or in situ solution to hydrocarbon, DNAPL or LNAPL concentrations, using Deep Well, Wellpoint or Ejector systems.

Consultancy Service

Project Dewatering Ltd can offer a professional and effective Consultancy service, in regard to any groundwater problem, including:

  • Dewatering Design

  • Acting as an independent assessor of Dewatering proposals

  • Reviewing of Dewatering claims

  • Assessment of settlement & environmental impact of Dewatering systems

We are in a position to both utilise in-house expertise, and together we our association with NUWATER Consultancy, based at the University of Newcastle and Drilcorp, we have a wide range of skills and experience to tap into.
